Medieval Art in York

Back To Vacations

N.B. I have just updated this site to correct the errors I had not realised existed. I apologise for the late correction but as many of you will know last summer was not a good one for me. Apart from correction of the gross errors I have improved the labelling of the stained glass on the All Saints, North Street pages

York is England's second city, The county of Yorkshire is in the North-East of England

The Summer 2004 course Medieval Art in York was held there in August.

Places visited on the course, in addition to York, included:

St. Mary's Beverley, Beverley Minster, Swine and Patrington.

I identified some of the stained glass by using the fabulous Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (or CVMA) web site. Many thanks for their work.

I also visited Beningborough Hall on my way to York.

For a chronological resumé of my vacation follow these links: MA 2004 Day by Day.

Or to go to a particular day: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday.
